The workshop manual suggests, for a 160kg rider, that both the rebound and compression should be seven clicks back from fully CW position. A guru says all clicks back from fully CW for the compression but only one click back from fully CW for rebound Re: Suspension settings If your going to pull the forks apart for a long over due svc, i'd recommend replacing the bushes & seals while your in there, they'll not need touching again... Measure spring length when stripped & check against Kawasaki's specs for length, you may need new springs as well I'm 80kgs with stock suspension, and at the moment my settings are: Front. Preload: 2 lines showing. Rebound: 4 clicks out from hardest setting. Compression: 8 clicks out from full (this definitely needs to be hardened up) Rear. Preload: 2nd hardest setting. Rebound: II. Compression: 3 The rear shocks were set very soft indeed. Preload was one notch from the bottom, compression was at setting 2 and rebound was at setting 2. This gave the ZRX a very negative rear bias and under slight acceleration in a straight line you could feel the forks extend quickly ans the rear squat Hellthey dont even know the fking tyre pressuresso how the hell do they expect us to believe that their standard suspension settings are correct. While 20% sag in the fork and 30% in the shock is a good base setting, it may not be the optimal for your riding style and the bike's suspension design. Spring rate (the force needed to compress the spring) is always a balance between big-hit support and small bump sensitivity Bound & Rebound settings. This is the dampening force of the shock absorber. Bound is the rate at which the shock allows compression and rebound is the rate at which the shock releases the compression. If your suspension has a dampening control then you can play with these settings and get the optimum setting . Hopefully helpful to others out there. I am very happy with these settings

Sadly the ZRX has just gone back to Kawasaki HQ to have some gremlins addressed - a strange coolant leak and a lowdown running issue - so work will have to wait.
